The Agniveervayu program is an exceptional opportunity for young and enthusiastic candidates to become part of the Indian Air Force. Indian Air Force Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Agniveervayu intake 01/2024, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Age Limit
- Candidates must be born between June 27, 2003, and December 27, 2006.
- The upper age limit for candidates who clear all the stages of the Selection Procedure should be 21 years at the time of enrollment.
Educational Qualification
Science Subjects:
Candidates applying under Science subjects must fulfill one of the following criteria:
- Passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR
- Passed Three years of Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) from Central, State, and UT recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Diploma Course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Diploma Course).
OR
- Passed Two years of Vocational Course with non-vocational subject viz. Physics and Mathematics from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).
Other than Science Subjects:
Candidates applying under other streams/subjects must fulfill one of the following criteria:
- Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
OR
- Passed Two years of Vocational Course from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Vocational Course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Vocational Course).
Medical Standards
Candidates must meet the following medical standards to be eligible for Agniveervayu:
Height:
- For Male candidates: The minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms.
- For Female candidates: The minimum acceptable height is 152 cms.
- For candidates belonging to North East or hilly regions of Uttarakhand, a lower minimum height of 147 cms will be accepted.
- In case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum height will be 150 cms.
Weight:
Proportionate to height and age.
Chest:
For Male and Female candidates: The chest wall should be well proportioned with a minimum range of expansion of 5 cms.
Hearing:
The candidate should have normal hearing, i.e., able to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately.
Dental:
Candidates should have healthy gums, a good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points.

Indian Air Force Selection Procedure
The selection process for Agniveervayu intake 01/2024 involves the following stages:
- Stage 1: Online Test (For both Group ‘X’ Trades and Group ‘Y’ Trades except Education Instructor Trade)
- Stage 2: Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
- Stage 3: Adaptability Test-1 (For both Group ‘X’ & ‘Y’ Trades)
- Stage 4: Adaptability Test-2 (For both Group ‘X’ & ‘Y’ Trades)
- Stage 5: Medical Examination
Candidates who successfully clear all the stages will be eligible for enrollment in the Indian Air Force.
Training and Pay Scale
Selected candidates will undergo rigorous training to prepare them for their roles in the Indian Air Force. The training will be comprehensive and will cover both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for the job.
As a part of the Agniveervayu scheme, candidates will be provided with a one-time ‘Seva Nidhi’ package comprising their monthly contribution along with matching contributions by the Government on completion of their engagement period.
